10:00 3rd Winesong Singing Competition
Venue: University of Pécs Faculty of Arts - Ferenc Liszt Auditorium (7630 Pécs, Zsolnay V. u. 39.)
The vine and wine have shaped human civilization for thousands of years, carrying cultural significance and serving as a constant source of inspiration for the arts. Art is an indispensable element in expressing the spiritual imagery of wine.
Traditionally, wine songs are mostly sung by the older generations. Our aim is to reach young people and preserve this tradition at the highest artistic level. This unique program seeks to discover and support vocal talents aged 18–30 while enriching wine culture.
The competition will be held in the Liszt Ferenc Concert Hall of the University of Pécs, Faculty of Arts, and is connected to the 28th European Wine Song Festival (with more than 30 years of tradition, including 4 world festivals), hosted in Pécs and the Villány Wine Region.
The competition will be held in three categories:
Folk Song – Folk-Inspired Art Song
Operetta – Opera – Musical
World Music (sung poetry)
Approx. 12:15 – Award Ceremony
Admission to the competition program is free of charge.
